MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!!
It is time for each Society to make their reservations for the
2014 Roy C. Haines Award Dinner/Dance & Taste of the States/Territories Desserts w/Silent Auction
To State Society and Territory Presidents and Delegates,
This Fall, the National Conference of State Societies (NCSS) will sponsor our annual Silent Auction in conjunction with the Haines Award Dinner/Dance and Taste of the States/Territories Desserts at the Knights of Columbus #2169 Council - 9709 Rosensteel Avenue * Silver Spring, MD, on Saturday, October 25, 2014, at 6:00 p.m.
We will continue the tradition that we began in 2012 for our Silent Auction by asking each State/Territorial Society to provide a basket of items unique to that State/Territory that will reflect the State/Territory’s individuality. If you are having difficulty coming up with ideas for your baskets, several websites are available with a multitude of suggestions on the Internet. In addition to designing your basket, please list the contents and what you would consider to be its value, and e-mail this information to Marie Frank at email@example.com no later than Friday, October 17th. This information will be used on the bid sheets as well as the Silent Auction Program, distributed to all attendees upon their arrival at the Haines Award Dinner/Dance. For drop-off locations or questions, please contact Silent Auction Chair: Marie Frank at 321-945-4244 or the above email address.
As we mentioned, the event is also featuring our Taste of the States/Territories Theme, desserts!! Societies are being asked for donations of a dessert/sweets that represent their state or territory or region (i.e. Pineapple from Hawaii, Nuts from Virginia, Hershey’s chocolate from Pennsylvania, Cherry Blossom Cake from Maryland, Oreos from Illinois, etc.) to highlight the theme. Each dessert should feed a minimum of 50 people so that those in attendance can get a taste of sweets from different regions of our country! These will be the desserts for the evening! Please have all desserts at the event NLT 5:45pm on Saturday, October 25, 2014.
The forms for both the silent auction items as well as the dinner reservation form that includes the dessert/sweet item, can be found by clicking on the EVENTS tab and the HAINES AWARD sub-tab above. We greatly appreciate your participation and assistance with both requests!
